Located in Thessaloniki – a key academic and commercial centre in southeastern Europe – Perrotis College enables young people from Greece and the Balkans, as well as from other European countries, America and elsewhere, to accomplish excellence. We do this by offering education of the highest quality that emphasizes theory as well as practice, professional preparation as well as intellectual attainment. We provide financial support to those who might otherwise lack the means to pursue post-secondary education.
Those who attend Perrotis College are given the opportunity to live in an international community of students, faculty and staff; through our internship and work-study programs to work in an environment with a rich mixture of opportunities and perspectives; and to study on a campus that, because it is part of the American Farm School, is renowned both for its sense of tradition and its history of innovation.
Housed on the century-old campus of the American Farm School in Thessaloniki, Perrotis College offers BSc (Hons) degree majors in Food Science and Technology, International Business, and in Environmental Systems Management. All classes are taught in English, the language of international commerce and business, and are validated by the Cardiff Metropolitan University.
The curriculum includes concentrated study in the following specializations:
Perrotis College students gain valuable, hands-on work experience throughout the curriculum with various companies and organizations active in the above fields. Some also take advantage of the opportunities we offer for work and study abroad.
Students who demonstrate academic aptitude are engaged in the research and publication projects of the College faculty and are rewarded with College-funded trips to international conferences where they are given the opportunity to hone their presentation skills.
When they complete their degrees, graduates go on to pursue advanced studies at prestigious universities in Europe and the United States; to date, our graduates have been accepted to over 25 universities for Masters and PhD degrees. Alternatively, they go directly into professional positions in international business, both in the public and the private sector, where as a rule they occupy positions in the food industry, tourism, agriculture or natural resource management. All graduates are well prepared for the paths they choose, because Perrotis College, as all branches of the American Farm School, takes pride in educating the hearts, hands and minds of its students. As a result of this holistic approach, the young men and women who complete a degree at Perrotis College have acquired a firm grasp of the skills that will enable them to succeed in the workplace, and have gained a keen awareness of the importance of continuing to learn for a whole lifetime, and go on to become responsible global citizens and leaders in their local communities.
The core academic departments of Perrotis College are complimented with dedicated research centres, such as the “Krinos Olive Centre”, an Entrepreneurship Centre offering extension services, a Life Long Learning Department and a Study Abroad Office that serves numerous individual students and groups from US universities.
